About Us

Hi, I’m Helen, and together with my husband Ian, we felt that Spring 2025 was the perfect moment to bring our vision of a pet crematorium to life. That’s how Infinity was born. We’re proud to be based in the beautiful village of Thornton-le-Dale, just outside Pickering – a peaceful place that reflects the care and compassion at the heart of what we do.
I grew up on my family’s farm just outside Pickering, and Ian is a Thornton lad through and through. We’ve both spent most of our lives working in the agricultural sector, and a love for animals has always been at the centre of who we are. We’ve had pets all our lives and know first-hand how deeply they become part of the family. Today, our home is shared with four dogs, three cats and two horses – six of them rescues – and each one reminds us daily why the work we do at Infinity matters so much.
Before beginning our Infinity journey, I spent six years working in a local veterinary practice, witnessing first-hand how heartbreaking it is when the moment comes to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Those experiences never leave. So when the opportunity arose, we knew exactly what we wanted to create – a private, family-run pet crematorium where every pet is treated with dignity, every farewell is individual, and every family is supported with genuine compassion. Infinity was born from that commitment, and it will forever remain at the heart of everything we do.
Our premises are fully licensed with APHA/Defra and North Yorkshire Council. We are inspected regularly to ensure our standards remain outstanding at all times, These certificates ensure that we meet, and exceed the highest industry standards guaranteeing professionalism and dignity when handling your beloved pet.

“I would highly recommend infinity, Absolute Top class service. Helen made us feel so welcome and took care of our Gorgeous Benji, I collected Benji today and a card with his paw print and I wasn’t expecting a gift of wild flower seeds to plant in remembrance of our little prince. Thank you so lovely to have a place where people care.” xxx.

“We sadly had to have our beloved 14 year old cat Charley put to sleep. We decided to have the vet come to our house for a less stressful experience for both our cat and us. I had looked at the services on the vets website for information on pet cremations and they had one in Durham who they used. I personally thought this was too far away.
The vet was very good and recommended Helen and Ian Pennock who had just taken on Infinity Pet cremation at Thornton le Dale. I felt happier using local people and a local business. Helen was very professional and caring when I spoke with her and Helen also collected Charley from the vets for us. Helen sent me some photos of urns etc.
I also had the opportunity to visit Charley before ther cremation if I had chosen too. We got Charley’s ashes back home within a few days in a lovely little ceramic rose gold urn. Thank you again.”

“The loss of someone you adore is always heartbreaking. Finding the perfect people to attend to their final journey isn’t easy, however…. Having recently sadly been in that position, we were incredibly fortunate to be looked after by Helen and Ian at Infinity.
Their understanding, care and attention was outstanding. Looking after us and Betty every step of the way, providing much needed support and a fantastic choice of wonderful memorials for our girl.
There is absolutely no doubt that Infinity are the very best choice and a credit to their profession. Thank you both so very much for your humanity.” xxx
